Reuse Treatment of Cooling Tower Sewage in Power Industry
For a long time, organic ultrafiltration membrane has been considered as an economical and effective traditional treatment method in the treatment of cooling tower sewage in power plants. In such applications with high pollution blockage tendency, the effect of organic membranes may be difficult to predict: more frequent chemical cleaning is usually required, resulting in longer downtime, lower water recycling efficiency, poor filtration capacity and more wire breakage. Once wire breakage occurs, the filtration performance of organic membranes will be greatly reduced, water quality will deteriorate, at the same time, more frequent shutdown repair and cleaning are needed, and the system is easily disordered. Disorders and accidental shutdowns may result in increased operating costs, reduced water production, loss of revenue, and may also face fines, or affect the normal operation of power plants. It's time to reconsider the use of ceramic membrane solutions.

Regardless of the upgrading of the old system or the new project, the solid and stable performance of Jiuwu's ceramic membrane system is trustworthy.

In many cases, the cooling tower effluent will be softened by lime to reduce hardness; in some cases, silicon removal agent is needed, both of which reduce the risk of scaling and improve the recovery rate of water reuse system. When using Jiuwu ceramic ultrafiltration membrane, the effluent of cooling tower effluent after lime softening treatment is filtered, and there is no need for multi-media filtration after sedimentation tank. After lime softening treatment, even if the suspended matter in the effluent reaches 600 mg/L, Jiuwu ceramic membrane solution can be successfully coped with, thus further reducing the cost of the cooling tower sewage reuse system, reducing the area occupied, and proving that the system can operate stably even when the water quality changes greatly.

A power plant in eastern China needs to add a cooling tower sewage treatment plant with a sewage flow rate of 2 x 150 m3/hour. The process design of the water reuse system is lime softening clarification, ultrafiltration and ultimate reverse osmosis (RO). In this application, the water quality is complex and the operation risk is high. Therefore, the owners hope to adopt a more reliable and durable solution than the conventional organic ultrafiltration membrane. After rigorous selection, they choose the ceramic ultrafiltration membrane of our company to transform the project.

Because the quality of ceramic ultrafiltration water is excellent and more stable than organic ultrafiltration, the cooling tower sewage reuse system as a whole will be more stable and reliable. Operators are also more confident in more durable ceramic membranes, and they are confident that the system will have good performance in the future.
