The urban sewage treatment system of developed countries has evolved to the third generation and began to transform into sewage resources. That is, the final product of the drainage system--the treated effluent and sludge, becomes a resource that can be utilized.
Membrane technology has sprung up in the field of environmental protection
The membrane is a medium for separation. When the solution is in contact with the membrane, some substances can pass through the membrane under the driving of pressure, and other substances are intercepted, so that the solution and the solute are effectively separated. MBR technology uses the separation of membranes, replaces the secondary sedimentation tank, sand filtration, disinfection and other units of the conventional activated sludge process with a
membrane separation device, and directly filters the effluent from the aeration tank with a super (micro) membrane. The suspended solids in the mud mixture are completely shut off and returned to the reactor. Therefore, the sludge age can be extended, the sludge concentration can be increased, the sludge load can be reduced, and the degradation of pollutants by microorganisms can be accelerated. It can double the efficiency of sewage treatment, so that the effluent water quality is not only stable and reliable, but also can directly reach the high quality reclaimed water standard. Therefore, the sewage treatment technology represented by membrane technology will surely rise in the environmental protection industry and will become a hot spot for investment in the future.
We noticed that the membrane technology has no sludge loss at all. The operation is not affected by sludge expansion. The operation and management are convenient, and the process is greatly simplified and the land occupation is saved, and the deficiencies of the conventional technology are completely eliminated. In recent years, with the successful construction and operation of a large number of large-scale MBR projects in China, many MBR projects have proved that the process can be operated stably for a long time, the effluent water quality is good, and the investment income of the project is also high, which indicates the scale of R&D and application of MBR technology in China. Process integration and advancement have entered the international advanced ranks. This has laid an unprecedented foundation for the application of MBR technology. At the same time, in recent years, the development and production of domestic membrane materials and membrane assembly equipment have also made new progress. In the past, more than 90% of domestic projects used foreign membrane materials, and domestic membrane materials were mainly used in smaller projects.
The localization of membrane materials that can be applied to large-scale projects has begun to be gradually realized, which will greatly reduce the investment and operation costs of MBR, and provide a new space for promoting the continuous optimization of MBR process technology. This will be more conducive to the wide application of MBR technology.
